Individual Therapy & Counseling

People seek therapy when they are in crisis, are depressed, just need an objective person to offer feedback, have a specific current problem or have old wounds that need healing. Many clients have told me they have been to therapy before and were disappointed by the passive nature of the therapist. I can take on many different roles depending on the needs of the client.

My style is very direct and active, yet it is you the client who will make your own decisions and be in control. I work with adult men and women of all races, cultures, religions and orientations. Some of my specialties include but are not limited to:

  • Teaching mindfulness techniques and other skills to help manage symptoms of depression and anxiety while helping you uncover and heal the root issues causing your discomfort.
  • Helping with life transitions and periods of adjustment such as becoming a parent, going through divorce or changing careers
  • Offering support and guidance during the often unexpected process of identity formation and identity discovery
  • Increasing knowledge and awareness about the underlying emotional and psychological issues that cause food addictions and teaching strategies and techniques to control triggers and improve choices
  • Providing information and support to clients involved in difficult relationships (familial, business related or romantic)
